FOREIGN MINISTER IN SUPPORT OF HAMAS
The Swedish foreign minister, Laila Freivalds, has expressed her support for Hamas running
in the upcoming Palestinian election. This is horrible any way you look at it, of course, and
as a Swede I'm embarrased that my government wants one of the most malicious terror organizations
to run for presidency of the Palestinian people.
Either Ms Freivals doesn't know what she's talking about, which is very bad, or else she does now what
she's talking about which is far worse. To me, statements like this should get her sacked. That's not
going to happen though - in fact, the mainstream media hasn't considered this statement as particularly
strange at all. Maybe they should have a look at
the Hamas Covenant, written in 1988 (which is their latest covenant). They may, for instance, have a
look at article seven which states that: "The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:
'The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew
will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind
me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it
is one of the trees of the Jews.' (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem)."
To think that these people should run the Palestinian authority. And to think that Ms Freivalds feels that this
would be perfectly alright, if they just change their ways slighty. And to think that she represent me and my
fellow citizens in Sweden.
